Featured ADS-B Feeder of September 2025: Tales Marinho de Araújo

Tales, our ADS-B Feeder, from Benjamin Constant, Brazil

We’re excited to bring back our Featured ADS-B Feeder series, which we’ve been running since 2021 to showcase the incredible people who help expand AirNav Radar’s global network. This month, we highlight Tales Marinho de Araújo, who has been contributing ADS-B data from the remote western region of Amazonas, Brazil, for approximately one year.

Tales shares his passion for aviation from his home in Benjamin Constant, Amazonas, a city near the border with Peru. Benjamin Constant is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Its population was 43,935 (as of 2020).

When asked for advice on setup or mounting for other feeders, Tales said he relies on a knowledgeable friend for guidance on both system and equipment handling.

Discovering AirNav Radar

Tales first discovered AirNav Radar from a friend who shares his love for aviation. “My friend introduced me to the app and then asked if I wanted to host an AirNav Radar station at home. I thought it was interesting and agreed,” he explained.

AirNav Radar Network at a Glance

  1. 36,422 Stations Worldwide

  2. Stations in 190 Countries

  3. 257 Stations Added in the Last 30 Days

  4. 4.057 Billion ADS-B Messages per Day (average over the last 30 days)

  5. 5.34 TBytes Bandwidth Used

Why He Feeds Data

The best part of running an AirNav Radar station, according to Tales, is contributing to regional, national, and international aviation, especially in a remote area like the extreme western Amazon, where there are few other stations. Tracking flights in real-time and obtaining detailed information about aircraft is incredibly rewarding for an aviation enthusiast.

Station Highlights

  1. Station ID: PGANRB501344

  2. Coverage: 263 nautical miles

  3. Ranking: Second-best station in the Amazon region

Tales’s station plays a crucial role in a region with limited aviation coverage, providing vital data over areas with high concentrations of indigenous communities.
