Maersk Air Cargo plays a central role in A.P. Moller–Maersk’s integrated logistics strategy, providing global air freight capacity that complements the group’s extensive ocean, land, and supply chain services. Through a combination of scheduled and charter operations, the airline connects more than 30 airports worldwide, supporting time-critical and high-value cargo flows across key global trade lanes.

Operating a fleet of 19 freighter aircraft, including Boeing 777F and 767F models, Maersk Air Cargo delivers over 400 weekly flight legs. Its operational hubs span major logistics centres in Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and China, positioning the airline as a significant player in both European and intercontinental air cargo markets.

Commenting on the membership, Lars Jordahn, CEO of Maersk Air Cargo, highlighted the strategic value of joining ERA, noting that the association provides a strong regional and European platform for engaging with policymakers and industry stakeholders. According to Jordahn, ERA membership will help ensure that cargo operators' perspectives are well represented as the industry shapes the future of air freight amid regulatory, operational, and sustainability challenges.

Montserrat Barriga, Director General of ERA, welcomed Maersk Air Cargo to the association and underlined the critical role of air freight in supporting European and global connectivity. She emphasized that Maersk Air Cargo’s operational scale, deep logistics expertise, and clear focus on sustainability will bring meaningful contributions to ERA’s advocacy efforts, particularly at a time when resilient supply chains and decarbonisation are high on the industry agenda.
