Boeing receives order to convert 12 Boeing 737-800 for freighters

Boeing and BBAM Limited Partnership announced on Monday (18) that the aircraft rental company is expanding its fleet of 737-800 converted freighters with six firm orders and six options.
The agreement raises BBAM's orders and commitments for the 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) to 15 and highlights the continued strength of e-commerce and the express cargo market.
“While we hope to expand our cargo fleet, the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter offers the performance and efficiency that our customers need,” said Steve Zissis, CEO of BBAM. “Adding these highly capable freighters to 276 Boeing aircraft in our managed fleet helps to further strengthen our leadership position in the market.”
Based on the popular 737NG (Next-Generation), the 737-800BCF is meeting customer demand for a new generation freighter that offers greater reliability and lower fuel consumption and operating costs per trip compared to other standard body freighters.
Primarily used to carry express cargo on domestic or short-haul routes, the aircraft is capable of carrying up to 23.9 tonnes (52,800 pounds) and flying up to 2,025 nautical miles (3,750 kilometers). Since entering service in 2018, the 737-800BCF has won over 150 orders and commitments.
